Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: June 2026
Our Commitment
Modern Classrooms Project is committed to making the Resource Hub usable by as many people as possible, including educators and administrators who rely on assistive technologies. The platform is designed to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and accessibility is considered throughout the development process for new features and updates.
Measures We Take
Accessibility is built into our development process rather than retrofitted. Our measures include:
- A shared component library that produces semantic HTML and accessible interactive controls (buttons, inputs, dialogs) by default.
- Keyboard support for interactive elements, with visible focus indicators and “skip to main content” links on key pages.
- Automated accessibility checks using axe in our continuous integration pipeline, so regressions are caught before they ship.
- A semantic design-token color system that keeps text and UI at AA contrast targets.
- Labeled form fields, descriptive link text, and ARIA attributes where native semantics are not sufficient.
- Built-in display preferences — text size, line spacing, dark mode, high contrast, reduced motion, and enhanced focus outlines — available from the accessibility menu on every page.
Supported Browsers and Assistive Technologies
The Resource Hub supports current versions of widely used, standards-compliant browsers, including:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Apple Safari
We evaluate accessibility using a combination of automated testing tools, keyboard navigation, browser zoom and text resizing, and testing with common assistive technologies such as screen readers. Older or unsupported browsers may not render the platform as intended.
Known Limitations
Some content on the platform comes from outside sources, and its accessibility can vary:
- Captions and transcripts are not available for every video. Some videos are hosted by third parties, and we work with content partners to expand caption coverage.
- Some imported or third-party content (for example, embedded documents and slides) is authored outside the Resource Hub and may not fully meet our accessibility standards.
If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, we want to hear about it.
Reporting an Issue or Requesting an Accommodation
If you experience any difficulty accessing part of the Resource Hub, or you need information provided in a different format, please let us know. We welcome your feedback and aim to respond promptly.
You can email us at [email protected]. When reporting an issue, it helps to include the page or feature involved, the browser and assistive technology you were using, and a description of what happened.
Accessibility documentation, including a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), is available upon request.
Ongoing Improvement
Accessibility is part of how we build, not a one-time audit. We review this statement and our practices regularly, monitor the platform for regressions, and update this page as the platform evolves.
