1. Service Overview

Modern Classrooms Project (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides the Resource Hub, a platform that enables teachers to manage and share classroom content. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and our Privacy Policy.

2. Google Integration

Our service integrates with Google Classroom to provide content management and sharing capabilities. When you authorize the Resource Hub, we request access to:

  • View your Google Classroom courses (read-only access) - Required to display your list of courses
  • Create and manage coursework in your courses - Required to add shared content as assignments in your own courses
  • Manage topics in your courses - Required to organize imported content into topics
  • View your basic profile and email - Required to identify your account and display your profile photo

We only use these permissions to enable you to organize, share, and export classroom-related content. We request the minimum necessary permissions; write access is limited to creating content in your own courses. We do not access student rosters, submissions, or grades, and we do not use or store your data for any purpose unrelated to providing our service.

3. Data Usage and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously and handle your data responsibly:

  • We only access and store the minimum data necessary to enable our core features.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties outside those essential to provide our services.
  • We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage data and analytics for improving the Resource Hub; no personal information is sold or shared.
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
  • We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide our service, unless otherwise required by law.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of the Resource Hub, you agree to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate authorization to access and share classroom content.
  • Respect student privacy and educational institution policies.
  • Not misuse or attempt to abuse our service.

5. Service Limitations

Our service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free access to the service.
  • Compatibility with all Google Classroom or Drive features.
  • Fitness for any particular purpose.

6. Anti-Discrimination Statement

The Modern Classrooms Project, Inc. (MCP) is committed to providing a learning and service environment free from discrimination or harassment. This commitment applies to all employees, volunteers, instructors, subcontractors, vendors, and participants in MCP programs and activities. All individuals will be treated fairly and with respect, without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, disability, age, or genetic information.

7. Conflict of Interest Policy

Anyone making decisions on behalf of MCP — including employees, contractors, instructors, volunteers, or board members — must act in the best interest of MCP. No individual may use their position for personal gain or to benefit friends, relatives, or outside interests. Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed promptly to the CEO or Board, and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure decisions are made impartially and in MCP’s best interest.
